Heather & Matthew's Wedding

For the second part of our wedding double-feature weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Heather and Matthew's wedding in Weaverville, NC. An interesting little tidbit: Matthew and his family are actually descendants of the original Weaver's that founded Weaverville. And to keep the historical theme going, they were married in a historic church with some of the most beautiful stained glass we've ever seen. Tour buses actually stop by the church to look at it its so beautiful and historic.

One of Heather's bridesmaids brought a book of poetry
to the salon. It was a nice gesture and just so happened
to make a cool backdrop for a ring shot.

The handsome groom, Matthew, sitting in front of
the "Weaver window". This particular stained glass
actually bears the names of Matthew's ancestors.

Matthew's family having a bit of fun decorating the getaway
car with t.p. and shaving cream. How thoughtful of them.

A family heirloom bible made a beautiful ring pillow.

Heather and her girls having a prayer circle before the ceremony.

The groom's cake not only looked good but it was delicious.
A chocolate lover's dream and more than enough sugar to
get us through the rest of the night!

Their band Current Invention did a great job of keeping
people on the dance floor. Daniel, the band leader, even
broke out the banjo when "Rocky Top" was requested.

Proof that the cake was packed with sugary goodness.

Heather's dad was quite the dancer and kept her
dress and hair twirling through several dances.

Emma & Stephen's Wedding

This past weekend we had a wedding double-feature. Friday we captured Stephen and Emma's relaxed garden wedding at the Rock Quarry Gardens in downtown Greenville, SC. They are such a laid back and fun couple and their wedding was no different. The gardens make for a beautiful and secluded setting even though it's just a stones throw from Main Street.

Stephen definitely wins our award for "Most Animated Groom" as you
can see from this piece we like to call "The many faces of Stephen".

This bridal party not only jumped but they did it with gusto!

A family member made this cool altar for them.

Stephen's dad welcomed Emma into the family in a big way.

After the wedding, Stephen and Emma wanted to stop by
Marble Slab for their favorite treat before heading off
on their honeymoon cruise. The place was packed but
Andrew at Marble Slab let them head to the front of the line
and even hooked them up with a free cup of ice cream.

Once they were all hopped up on sugar,
they were really ready for some fun.

Andrew at Marble Slab offered Emma and Stephen two free
cups of ice cream but they were so thoughtful they insisted
we have one of them. Once they headed off and our jobs were
done, we headed back for a much needed sugar injection.

What's our flavor of choice you ask? Vanilla ice cream with
Reese's peanut butter cups, mmmmmmmm!

Emma & Stephen,

Thank you guys for being so much fun to work with and for treating us to a tasty treat. We hope you have a wonderful time cruising the Caribbean and we can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.

Colleen & Rob's Wedding

After more than a year of planning, Colleen and Rob finally got hitched last Saturday. Colleen started the morning off surrounded by family and friends for a bridal luncheon at Elegant Gourmet in Simpsonville, SC. Later, they had their ceremony at Simpsonville First Baptist and followed up with an indoor/outdoor reception at Carolina Springs Country Club in Fountain Inn. The party really cranked up once the sun went down.

Here are some of Colleen's beautiful bridals we've had to keep under wraps.

Rob's mom read a touching poem at the luncheon to welcome
Colleen into the family. Awwww's went up all around the room.

Another Awwww moment: Rob surprised Colleen by having a
beautiful bouquet of roses delivered along with a very sweet card.

Colleen's adorable grandfather gave her some last minute
advice before walking her down the aisle.

Colleen (and perhaps everyone else) thought the pastor was
going to forget the part where Rob may kiss his bride.

He was just building the suspense.

We love the moments right after the ceremony
when the bridal party and parents are beaming
and congratulating the newlyweds.

The grandfather-granddaughter dance was very moving,
especially for Colleen.

For the garter toss, Colleen strutted her stuff
to let Rob know what he was in for.

A stolen kiss before they ride off into the night.
