Danielle & Dawson's Engagement Portraits

Last week we headed up to Mars Hill, NC for Danielle and Dawson's engagement portraits. They aren't our first Mars Hill College alumni (actually our 4th) but this was our first time actually visiting the campus.

The college was the perfect spot for their engagement shoot. Not only did they meet there, but Dawson played baseball on a scholarship and now Danielle teaches clogging. We had a lot of fun incorporating all those aspects into the shoot.

After a little game of catch, they headed straight for first base! ;)

Danielle was kind enough to bust out her clogging moves and put on a show for us. We're no clogging aficionados but she really wowed us, not to mention the fact that the studio was lined with hundreds of trophies.

Danielle & Dawson,

Thanks so much for giving us the tour of your alma mater. We loved your ideas and had so much fun with you. You're naturals in front of the camera and we can't wait to photograph you all dressed up on the wedding day!

Sarah & Chris' Engagement Portraits

This month feels like an engagement session decathlon. We're working hard but having a blast getting to know all about our awesome couples. One of our latest shoots was with Sarah and Chris downtown. Sarah was a bridesmaid at one of our weddings last year and now she gets to be the bride this year! Getting to know them we found out they are roller-coaster enthusiasts and are hitting up several theme parks in Orlando, FL for their honeymoon. Talk about a fun way to celebrate your new marriage!

Time to get back to work now but look for more e-shoots to come soon.

Rachel & Ben's Wedding at Cliffs of Glassy

It's hard to believe it has been over a year since we first met Rachel and Ben. Now their wedding has come and gone and what a blast it was! The weather was dreary and the fog was thick at the Cliffs of Glassy, but that didn't stop everyone from having a fun time, especially the bride and groom. The fog even made for some awesome shots.

Bagpiper: Ken Swinton of Scottish Sound
Caterer: Bagatelle Caterers
DJ: The Party Machine

Loved the groovy pine cone and leaf decorations at the Chapel.

Fog-a-licious!

The fog turned the gorgeous view into an empty void and made everything look so surreal. It gave us an opportunity to see the place in a whole new way and think differently.

Everyone had a good laugh when Rachel accidentally put Ben's ring on the wrong hand. Their looks were priceless.

Hands down our best detail shot ever. So simple yet so darn cool!

Rachel and Ben are so great together.

Camp Old Indian is a big part of Ben's life and so they had the reception at the hall there. They did an amazing job transforming it into an elegant venue with beautiful decorations and lighting.

Fraser and Amy with The Party Machine did a great job getting everyone out on the dance floor and having fun.

After their sparkler exit, the newlyweds snuck off to La Bastide, a nearby inn and vineyard. Since they love pictures so much they invited us along. We love it when we have time with just the couple and no distractions. They feel like they can be themselves and really let the emotions take over and get romantical.

Rachel & Ben,

Congratulations on the wedding, the new house and just finding each other. You make a wonderful and fun couple and we are so glad that we had the chance to get to know you. Have a great time on your honeymoon! We're looking forward to showing you your album and the rest of your awesome images.

Jaime & Brian's Wedding in Spartanburg

Our first wedding of the year has come and gone and was a great way to kick off the new season! Jaime and Brian tied the knot at Brian's alma-mater, Wofford College, in Spartanburg, SC. The auditorium in "Old Main" was a beautiful backdrop for their nuptials and had plenty of seating for their 300+ guests. They followed it up with a rockin' good party at Summit Pointe where Orange Krush once again kept the dance floor hopping all night long!

Though Jaime is a wedding planner herself and did a great job planning her own, she called on Chandler Barnes Events to help with the day-of coordination. This way Jaime could just relax and enjoy her big day. Kathy and Barbara were a big help.

Make-up: Shantel Lowe
Flowers: Mill St. Florist
Bridal Gown: Carolina Traditions

Here are some of our favs from the day. Be sure to check out the slideshow at the bottom for more.

It's been really hard holding back some of Jaime's amazing bridal portraits but now that it's official, check these out. Jaime makes a gorgeous bride and look at that stunning dress!

Jaime wore her late grandmother's jewelry which was dazzling.

How perfect for us...hearts on the bottom of her shoes!

Brian and his guys got the day started with lunch at NuWay, a neat little pub in Spartanburg. Ahh the stories that were told!

Emotions were high as Jaime and her dad prepared to walk down the aisle.

These trees just called to us. You gotta love Spring.

Jaime and Brian are quite the dancers. Not only did they wow their guests with their first dance but they were on the dance floor most of the night.

Jaime and her dad sharing a dance. So sweet.

Ditto for Brian and his mom.

A martini luge being defiled in the name of fun!

Perfect end to a perfect day.

Jaime & Brian,

Ever since you treated us to a Krispy Kreme donut at your engagement shoot, you've had our hearts =) We are just so glad that we could be there for your big day and capture some beautiful images for you, two wonderful people who love and deserve each other so much. We hope you have a great time in the Keys and we'll see you soon.
