Jill & Tony's Engagement Portraits

Last week we met up with Jill and Tony at the Asheville Botanical Gardens for their Engagement Portraits. Though there really weren't many flowers in bloom, the greenery was lush and vibrant.

Jill has a great little laugh and Tony could get her
going with just a look. They're so cute together.

The stream that runs through the gardens
is so beautiful in the evening sunlight.

We have the most fun and adventurous couples!
Jill and Tony went to town splashing around in the
stream. From the looks of it, Tony won this battle.

Heather & Josh

And the weddings just keep on coming! This past Saturday was Heather and Josh's and the weather could not have been better in Greenville. They started with an intimate church ceremony and then took the party to Creekside Plantation for a poolside reception.

Heather checking herself out.

A sneak shot of the back of Heather's beautiful dress.

Creekside had a cool red barn that we could use.
Come to think of it, the words "cool" and "barn" are
not often used together, but we were diggin' this one.

Heather and her girls having fun before the ceremony.

Josh was definitely happy to see his beautiful bride.
He couldn't take his eyes off of her!

Now this is how you celebrate getting married. Their
kiss could've won an award, not to mention Josh
letting everyone know he was going to be a minute.

Heather and Josh had a great idea to come back in after the
ceremony and dismiss each row of guests personally. It gave
them a chance to greet everyone and made for great shots.

This was a stolen moment, completely
unposed and one of our favorites.

After their reception, Heather and Josh wanted
to head downtown for some more photo fun.

And then they were off to the surprise honeymoon Josh planned.

Heather & Josh,

Wherever you are, we hope you're enjoying being newlyweds. You are a lot of fun and some of the best kissers we've seen. Have a wonderful time and we look forward to seeing you when you get back.

Emma & Stephen's Engagement Portraits

Finally, we're caught up with our blogging after a whirlwind couple of weeks. Of course, there are a ton of bridal sessions we would love to show, but those will have to wait until the couples are happily married.

This week we had fun with Emma and Stephen for their Engagement Portraits in downtown Greenville, SC. They're both artistic and didn't want anything "stiff" (neither do we) so we got playful instead.

We love finding new spots downtown so that each
couple's portraits are unique to their personalities.

Even in the city, you can still enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Once Stephen saw the water spouting out of the ground,
his eyes lit up. His mission: get Emma wet.

We love it when couples just do their own thing.
That's what makes portraits truly real.

Congratulations again, Emma, for graduating from BJU. We wish you all the best with your new job. We can't wait for your garden wedding and post-reception ice cream shoot!

Amber & Justin's Wedding

Amber and Justin tied the knot at The Orchard at Broadmoor in Fletcher, NC this past weekend. Thankfully, the light rain in the morning didn't affect their beautiful outdoor wedding. Instead the cloudy skies gave us great soft light to work with.

The day started out with a rousing game of golf with Justin and a few of his guys.

Just when you think you're a safe distance away, Justin
pops one right in my direction! You can even see the
ball flying right by his face in this shot. The camera
must have been keeping him from his "A Game".

As a testament to the fact that a wedding is for both
the bride AND groom, Justin and his guys sported
swanky camouflage vests. We just love it when
couples add their own personal touches.

As this unfortunate groomsman found out, make
sure someone experienced puts on your boutonniere.
Or at least someone you can trust with a needle!

Amber's wedding ring is truly one of a kind since
it was made from all of her scrap gold. What a cool
way to recycle.

We were eating up the beautiful window light in
the foyer. Not to mention Amber is a gorgeous
bride no matter what light she is in.

What a cute moment with Amber and her dad
right before they walked down the aisle.

The newlyweds frolicking on the beautiful
grounds at Broadmoor.

As a special touch, Amber and Justin shared a dance
with their brother and sister. What a sweet idea.

There's just something about a mountain
of cupcakes that calls to us!

Amber and Justin were referred by another one of our couples and we are so glad because we've had a great time with them. From their ultra-cool, super-secret engagement portrait location, spectacular home-on-a-mountain bridal shoot to their fun and personal wedding day, it's been "very nice". (To quote "Borat") We even have the same taste in movies!

We hope you guys have an enjoyable and relaxing honeymoon in our old stomping grounds of sunny Florida, U.S.andA! ("Borat" again)

Laura & Bill's Wedding

My how time flies!

Now that wedding season has kicked into high gear, we are full speed ahead and busy every minute. Hence the delay in posting about Laura and Bill's Cinco de Mayo wedding two weekends ago. They celebrated it at the elegant Homewood in Asheville, NC. The plan was to have the ceremony outside in the beautiful glen but the rain put a damper on that. However, Homewood already had a backup plan and the gorgeous dining room was quickly turned into an intimate chapel, complete with lit fireplace and wall to wall candlelight. It looked like that was how they planned it all along.

We were very impressed not only with the look and elegance of Homewood but also the staff. Monroe and his crew were always pleasant and very accommodating. Not to mention they saved the day when Laura's zipper broke on her dress. Monroe was immediately on the phone to have a seamstress come over and fix it. Kudos to the Homewood staff.

Once again, the beauty of having two photographers for
your wedding day. While Emily was shooting Laura's hair
and make-up, I was able to photograph Bill playing with
"the kids" before getting ready.

Bill looking dashing by window light.

Laura looking beautiful, and extremely happy
that her dress was fixed.

Fortunately, the rain held off for the most part so we could
still use the caste-like exterior for some great shots.

Laura and Bill making their way to the cocktail tent for a round of
toasts. Bill kicked off the Cinco de Mayo fun with "Let's Party!"

Bill is a multi-talented musician to say the least. He went from
strumming guitars to playing the drums, but he really wowed
the crowd when he pulled out his didgeridoo. The sound was
so cool with the band playing along.

And of course what Cinco de Mayo celebration
would be complete without colorful sombreros!

Laura and Bill,

No doubt you continued your Cinco de Mayo festivities on your honeymoon to Mexico. Your probably back already but we hope you had a great time relaxing in the sun and sipping cervezas. We can't wait to hear all about it! Thank you both for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your wedding day. It was such a great blend of elegance and fun that was truly your own and we had an awesome time.
